What is Manu Tukutuku?
Manu Tukutuku is a triangular shaped traditional kite. The word Manu means bird and Tukutuku meaning the unraveling of something, to be set free. Manu Tukutuku are seen to be the connectors between the heaven and earth, and having close links with matariki. In the past they were used for communication between whaanau and iwi and continue to be important to Maaori spiritually and culturally.
Workshop summary
You will learn how to binned together a mini Manu Tukutuku using the natural resources from our ngahere (forest), along with a few associated myths and legends.
